More Harry Potter Insanity

The real question for any fan of the Harry Potter series is what sort of resolution there will be between Harry and Professor Snape. While they are enemies inside the confines of Hogwarts, they are apparently allies in the greater Good vs. Evil scheme. Does it make sense for Harry to finally best Snape if Severus helps defeat Lord Voldemort? Or will Snape defect to the Dark Side, allowing Harry to send seven years of resentment and hatred his way? Or will they put aside their differences, turn Draco Malfoy into a giant houka, and smoke their way to eternal enlightenment?

Trust me, this is much more important than the search for WMD's in Iraq.

What? They stopped looking? Oh, right.

Here is what I would do if I were Rowling. Don't we all wish we were? During book 6, Harry/Snape relations worsen (if possible) yet Harry is forced to work together with Snape in the post-school year showdown with evil. Harry manages to safe Snape's bacon in a big fight. However, in the end, Snape "apparently" betrays Harry in some big evil way.

Book 7 Snape finally gets the Defense Agin Dark Arts Professorship. He swallows his pride and is gratefull
to Harry for saving his life. Harry is shown that Snape didn't really betray him. Harry is impressed that Snape really is a good D.a.d.a. teacher and slowly begins to have some respect for him. In the book 7 showdown, Harry actually requests and recieves Snape's help in the fight(which kills Voldemort). Snape saves Harry's life, and gets killed by a cowardly sneak attack by Draco. Draco it seems is a lot more talented than he has been letting on. We are left hanging, thinking that Draco is going to use the evil vacuum of a dead Voldemort + the money and influence of his father to rally evil around him.

Book 8 A new era/book series is ushered in as Harry Potter becomes the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts.

That's ridiculous! There's no way Draco turns out to be more competent than he appears.

Rubbish!

Am I the only one that lies awake at night wondering what house Dumbledore was in when he attended Hogwarts (if he did at all)? I have been really hoping that he turns out to be a Slytherin. There has got to be at least one truly decent wizard to come out of that house. Why not Dumbledore. Furthermore, I believe he was head of Slytherin house as a professor prior to becoming headmaster. The memory of Riddle makes mention of Dumbledore keeping a close watch on him. Who better to watch a student than the head of the student's house.

The whole concept of houses in a school confuses me. Hufflepuff is a funny word. Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff! HUFFLEPUFF!
